INSECTARIUM

This series was a study and simultaneously a celebration of the insect world. It was inspired by insectariums or museum collections where bugs are pinned and displayed in little glass containers. Since I grew up in the city, I never truly understood the vitality of insects as part of the ecosystem until very recently. For me, painting a creature is one of the best ways to learn about it and appreciate its form.
